I am an integrative psychotherapist. Now what the heck does that mean? It just means I blend together a few different types of therapy. I’m predominantly person centred, meaning the floor is yours to bring to therapy whatever you believe is important to discuss. However, I do also integrate attachment theory and a bit of CBT for when you might be experiencing ‘stuckness’ and need a bit more direction to help you achieve the outcome you desire.
My background is largely centred around working with survivors of sexual violence and sexual abuse, and within this I have plenty of experience working with clients who have experienced trauma or been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder/EUPD, (C)PTSD, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, or have difficulty within relationships. However, if this doesn’t sound like you but you’re still interested, please do schedule in an initial consultation - I’ve been working in the field of mental health in one capacity or another for just over a decade, so my experience is varied.
Outside of psychotherapeutic theory, I hold a few core values: acceptance, kindness and compassion; sprinkled with a bit of humour to lighten the load.
Therapy is currently delivered either face to face, via MS Teams or telephone, giving you the flexibility to engage in your session in the way that best suits you. You’re welcome to mix and match to suit your lifestyle.
